Jo&YumYum: Craft Bakery Cafe

Craft Bakery Cafe which situates at the former Cold Rock Ice Creamery, offers all day brunch, pastas, desserts and coffee that suits the type of meal you want to have throughout the day. It offers beer at night for working adults who want to chill after a hectic day of work too.

  • Operating hours: 9am - 11pm daily
  • (within walking distance from Holland Village MRT, directions towards Holland V Hawker)

It was pretty random when my friend and I decided to chill here after work on Monday. I guess, it's called chasing away the Monday Blues? (: We also found MU Parlour and 93 Degrees Bean and Leaf, which are located just a few shops down the street! We're definitely going back for these cafes for the next round!

Narrow walkway, however it doesn't feel very cramped up in the cafe. They provide seats indoor and outdoors, so if you prefer to have light breeze blowing through your hair and people watch, you'll know which to choose. ;) No loud decorations but simple white walls and concrete grounds make you feel like home.

The Menu.
Prices here are on the pricey side, so feel free to pay this cafe a visit when you're feeling rich yeah. (:
They imposed a 10% service charge too.

Ready for an eye feast? :D

Skinny Fries tossed in Truffle Oil & Parmesan Cheese - $8.50
Strong Truffle smell when freshly fried from kitchen. Cheese was given sparingly and I personally feel that it tasted good. The portion was big for both of us and we ended up leaving 1/4 of the portion in the bowl. Decent price if sharing among a group of 2-3 friends.

Cafe Mocha - $5.50
My friend was worried that if we ordered the same drink, the Barista will make the same Coffee Art for us, so she requested a different design upon order. She got the "leaf" and I got a "heart". (:
Personally, I like their Mocha. The taste of coffee doesn't cover the sweetness of chocolate and at the same time, it's not too sweet too. Love the bittersweet taste sips after sips.

The Whole Nine Yards - $17.50
Toast was alright, however it will be better if butter/margarine is provided. Love the scrambles and sauteed mushrooms. The dish didn't really wow me that much and considering the price, I would rather opt for Big Breakfast at other cafes at a much lower price.

Molten Cakes (Original and Caramelised Banana flavour) - $9.50 each
Molten cakes in Craft's are highly raved in reviews, so we were tempted to give it a try. Ordered 2 flavours at a go, Original for her and Caramelised Banana for me. (I'm a sucker for banana! :x)
She was preparing to video down the overflow of chocolate but to our disappointment, it doesn't flow. However, good thing is that the chocolate is very thick so it's definitely worth giving a shot! It tasted bittersweet, I guess they use Dark Chocolate?
There's no much difference between the two, just that there's 2 pieces of bananas hidden in the Molten Cakes for mine.
As a chocolate lover (especially for dark chocolate), THREE INCH SIN totally nailed it!

Staffs were really friendly and it doesn't take long for our food to be cooked. It's definitely great for catching up/chilling after work in Craft Bakery Cafe (:

With love,
Jo
